Sounds like a fun trip! Emily is really starting to look like you, Mary!

Don't be afraid of turning 30. My 30s have been great so far. I still feel young and healthy, but unlike when I turned 20, I am comfortable and confident with who I am.

So glad to hear you are getting back to a new normal.

That's really something about Emily putting herself in timeout. I can't imagine Lydia doing that! :)

I love eating outside. Here's to beautiful days!

I'm sorry to hear about Emily being sick! But I'm glad she is home now and doing better. I've always believed that everything happens for a reason, it's too big of a world for it not to work that way. Nothing happens just because....it's a large chain of events and unfortuanetly you have to go down before you go back up, just like a roller coaster. But just like a roller coaster you end, a little shaken, but still alive and ready for the next ride. Everything will work out great! Love you and miss you tons!

Mary, wow, you have been through a lot. Your post is beautifully written. You show much wisdom and maturity. Emily is blessed to have a mommy who can see God's provision in difficult circumstances. Keep posting.

From my many years (25) of working in childcare - I would guess that the daycare classmates are probably taking things away from her often and no one is doing anything to help her protect her 'space' and toys. The hitting is probably being done by other children to her, without anyone stopping it either. perhaps you should 'drop by' unexpectedly early one day to observe the class at a time when parents are not expected. Please understand that this behavior is not your child being 'naughty' - it simply what she has learned to protect her self and her 'property'. Look up some child development info to help you with handling her behaviors as related to her age, and then keep reading to stay ahead of her progress and know what is ahead for her abilities. As for the screaming - your quiet soft voice to model for her continually will make the most progress. Sometimes a whisper will get their attention quicker than raising your voice. You will have to repeat your statement several times, but she will be intriqued. Talk about how screaming hurts your ears, and would she please talk softly like mommy? It can be trying; to break habits learned in group daycare. Hang in there Mom.

Yikes! Sorry to hear about all the "holes" that are cropping up. It sounds like God took care of you before, and I have to believe He will again.

So glad my comment made you feel better. Hang in there!

Mary, it sounds like you are keeping a good attitude in the midst of less-than-ideal circumstances. I guess things never go quite like we think they should. This makes me think of an encourage Bible verse that lets us know God use any circumstance for good:

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

Happy Thanksgiving, and enjoy the Christmas season!

I like the quote.

Lydia didn't know what to do with her candy either. Fine with me! I don't imagine we'll get away with that next year!
